Okay, jellyfish are super pretty. That’s all there is to it. maybe it’s just the girl in me, but I love their frothy lace and beady little eyes. I’m very happy I decided to take a stab at them. I’m also very happy I decided to go with lace. When I was deciding what to buy for them, I spent a loooong time in the yarn section, but I wasn’t sure how I would attach the yarn so it wouldn’t pull out, so I decided to go with lace. Good decision. This pink jelly is the most popular jellyfish so far. A lot of people say it looks like clara from Princess Jellyfish. My jellies are certainly inspired by princess jellyfish, but I didn’t want to make straight up fan art because I wanted something people could relate to even if they haven’t seen the show. When I’m at conventions the fan art is a big draw because everyone “gets it”, but when I sell online a lot of my customers are parents looking to buy for their kids. I don’t want them to be thinking about whether or not their kid likes the show, just about whether or not they will like the plush. If that makes any sense… Also my mom is hilarious. When she helps me at conventions, she is so funny, because people are asking her questions and trying to talk to her and she doesn’t know the names of things. She called my dratini plush “blue wormy things,” and still managed to sell one to a guy who also didn’t know what it was, but decided the “blue wormy thing” was cute. She saw these and said, ” See, I know what those are. Those jelly blob things.” and I had to tell her, “Mom, they are jellyfish! You know what a jellyfish is!”If you’d like to buy your own “jelly blog thing,” you can purchase them on Etsy\ as well as the pattern to make your own.

Available on Etsy

This large loch ness came with me to Jafax, but didn’t find a home there, so now it is available online :) This space fabric is very limited. I don’t have enough to create another one of these and as of yet I have not been able to order more. So if you’re interested, don’t let him fly away!

Also the curve of the neck was completely accidental. No matter how many times I make the same plush with the same pattern from the same material, I always end up with slight differences. But I kind of love the extra tilt it has to its neck. Like its staring into the stars!
